Just noticed the latest nin.com/tr update:
Quote:A few thoughts / corrections on Jerome Dillon's latest press attempt to create interest in his project:
First, the facts:
I was impressed with his demos that ended up being his record.
I thought the choice of using Claudia was fantastic - I love her voice.
I did not offer to produce his record.
I did not attempt or ask to use any of his tracks for the "Tapeworm"
project (which was long dead by the time I heard his music).
His recollection of the events leading to his departure from the band is once again inaccurate.
Now I venture into commentary:
Jerome continuously has to see himself as the victim in all
circumstances. He lives in a world where he is always being wronged by
someone or something. That could be me, that could be management, that
could be his drum tech, that could be the girl who mistakenly washed
his permanent press designer jeans, that could be the person that
didn't cook his chicken properly before the show, or that could be the
record label that wont give him tour support for his new band to play a
show. On that topic, what in the hell do you need tour support for?
You're a new band with no record sales yet... do what any new band does
- practice in the garage, pack your shit in the car, play a goddamned
show and quit whining about it.
p.s. You look like an asshole in your picture.
Yow! I had figured the two were a bit uneasy, that seems a bit
harsh. I looked around for the press relese TR mentions but didn't find
it. Anyone have a link to it?

I'm divided on this update. On the one hand, this was a hilarious
comeback to Jerome's "interesting" MTV interview. On the other hand,
way to not be the bigger man TR.

Jerome just got too big for his britches - (who wouldn't, coming off a
tour with Nine Inch Nails for Chrissake?) He was trying to ride on
Trent's coattails - TR has worked hard to get the name NIN mentioned
again, to be relevant again, to attract fans (all the tour dates, the
interviews, the fan club, the teaser pics, ect) and Dillion was trying
to steal a bit of his lime light. He goes off to make his own 'dream'
record, he breaks his ties with NIN because he wants to do his 'own
thing'...and then he uses Trent's name as a shameless promotional
instrument? I'm glad El Rezo set him straight.
Good for Trent!

I don't feel Trent's response to the MTV interview makes him the lesser
man. Jerome said things in the interview that Trent disagreed with, so
why shouldn't Trent state his side?
Seems to me that Jerome Dillon is a big, whiny baby looking for attention.

oooh...gotta love this petty crap! i think each guy is entitled to
their opinion, and TR is just giving a knee-jerk reaction to JD's
comments in the press. It's a shame this stuff has to go back and forth
through articles and internet posts and not be settled in person
between them...
as far as the "attempt to create interest" part, i'm not sure if
Jerome is milking his ex-NIN credentials constantly or it's just the
press's decision to link the two and talk about the split, etc. He has
trouble shutting his trap about feeling jilted. Not very professional
of him. Yet TR saying Jerome looks like an asshole-- that's TOTALLY
professional, because Reznor has NEVER had or used any pictures like
that one (or is that the irony?). Yes, I think that's the irony.
slightly altered
anyway, the nearLY album IS EXCELLENT and deserves press.
and yeah, most bands start off investing their own time and money into
playing live shows and gaining a fanbase, so if JD is expecting
handouts just because he WAS in NIN, then that's presumptuous.

Hahaha Jerome is so ungreatful...NIN and Trent gave him the biggest
opportunity of his life ...now he wants to go say this and that...who
cares im glad Josh is in the band now cuz he is way better than Jerome,
and thats the truth(not saying Jerome was a bad drummer cuz he
wasnt).....could this have been handle different yes i suppose..but
ohwell I dont blame Trent for going off, a person can only take so
much..good ridance Jerome the ride was nice while it lasted you will
always be behind Chris Vrenna and Josh Freese as the best drummers NIN
has ever had...now stop talking shit...Long live NIN and Trent
Reznor!!!

First Off, the tone of TR Update was like a punch in the face. TR
didn't leave any stone un-turned. Frankly, Jerome is getting what he
deserves. Jerome believed NIN was a body with indiviudal autonomy, well
sorry to burst your bubble, IT'S NOT!!! NIN is TR's, no one else's. If
the experience was so bad why come back to play the Hollywood Bowl Show
but for personal reasons?
Secondly, if someone wears pressed designer jeans and claims to be
a rock 'n roll icon, think again. Last time I thought about it only
posers, frat boys and spolied little suburbanites wear them. I don't
know any more.
Trent has the high ground in this argument both morally and pragmatically.

wow, the ending there is the only thing that makes trent look like the
lesser man. other than that end comment, i'm inclined to believe trent,
especially taking into account the things he has previously said about
jerome, which seemed a little nicer. after the inital departure, trent
seemed to try to be nice about and make sure he didn't paint jerome in
a bad light, but after jerome's mtv interview, i'm sure trent felt a
little betrayed by what was said. i'm just a little surprised it's all
so public.

Your gonna rip someone because they wear designer jeans? you gotta
put your anger somewhere else. Anyway I do believe Trent, Jerome is
just trying to create some attention for his release. Of course you
would expect this kind of article off the website of MTV they don't
deal with music anymore just the feuds and whose fucking who

Leave it to trent to be a dick enough to go out of his way to talk shit about a struggling artist.
What a hypocrate.

Considering Trent's known affinity for designer labels, I think we can
all safely bet that he's actually (clearly) tearing into Jerome for
being a primadonna.
That's an awfully specific example, btw.
Someone must've not have had their clothes dry-cleaned and threw a fit.
