Finality - by Erik Smith

Dark swirling clouds envelop me
Blurring what used to be my sanity
Blacking out the visions of hopes and dreams
Locking out everything providing my means
Breaking apart my mental picture of purity

Jump out of my chair
Diving across the room screaming
Smashing my fists through the concrete wall
Tearing it down yelling out loud
Throwing the television out the window
Sending broken glass everywhere

I grab a shard of broken glass
Looking at the bead of my blood
Glistening in the white moonlight

Several people gather a distance away
Watching me not knowing what to say
Not realizing my life disappeared today
Sharply imploding into a never-ending gray

"Fuck you all" I say under my breath
Just loud enough for all to hear
Then bury the piece of glass deep into my neck
Spraying blood on all who are near
