Shades of Grey - by Erik Smith

The night has come
It says hello
It bounds my feet
Nowhere to go

The time is here
The time is now
No time to waste
Ill show you how

Stand on the side
Near the black waters
Under the pale grey sky
This is all that matters

Stand near the tree
Of grey bark
Grey leaves
And grey shadows
All signs of pain

Look out over the grey fields
And see the grey animals
The silhouette of the grey plateau
In the distance beyond the rain

The white sun
Burning the dark grey grass
Melting the flesh of all the grey animals
Filling this dismal endless grey world
Where there is nothing to lose
And nothing to gain

Fall into the black
Under the grey surface
Fill your lungs with the liquid
Let the feeling overpower
Leave now in this dark hour
